Grimlock battles Ser-Ket for the fate of Swoop. Trust me, that’s enough, but them someone else arrives.
What they got right: You know why there’s no Best Scene nomination for this comic? Because the entire fight is a Best Scene nomination. The artwork is beautiful. We get an intelligent Grimlock and the whole “dinosaur mode tries to take over” gets fans their “me, Grimlock” lines. It’s a win for everybody. This is a Grimlock who puts his Dinobots first but still thinks of himself as an Autobot. If Grimlock were portrayed more like this than how Furman writes him I might like the character more in comics.
What they got wrong: Writers like these should be the guys making Transformers stories. It’s nice to have a Transformers comic I’m looking forward to each month for a change, and sadly this is a miniseries.
Recommendation: If you agree with me please support this book. It’s fun, it’s not trying to be “hardcore” and it makes me like a version of Grimlock that isn’t in the cartoons (until they show up in Transformers Prime, hopefully this season). Again, please support this book and maybe these two will be brought in on another Transformers comic.
