Chromedome goes poking around inside of Overlord’s head hoping to find something to use if Megatron resurfaces (he already has but the characters in this comic don’t know that). He ends up learning Overlord’s origins, but Overlord ends up learning Chromedome’s as well…and how to escape his cell.
This comic is so full of unnecessary things. Overlord didn’t need some strange material to make him stronger, the whole “phase six” thing means nothing anymore in this continuity, and did Chromedome need a backstory or an alternate name? The worst thing about this, though, is that I can’t root for anyone. Chromedome a jerk, Prowl’s a jerk, Overlord might as well be Starscream but angrier. I just don’t care about the events of this story and outside of Overlord getting out of his cell and locking up Chromedome before beginning a murder spree we’ll probably see next issue there’s nothing here to care about at all.
There’s really no reason to pick up this comic, and I REALLY hate saying that about a Transformers comic, even this one which used to be my least favorite until Regeneration One started up.
