If you’re reading this from the homepage you’re used to seeing the full article: comic, other stuff I’ve done, Best Scene winner, and some comment at the end. Well, we’re doing things a bit different tonight. Superman is my favorite DC hero so for his 75th I wanted to do something special. (Ironic considering how I treat my own milestones, huh?) So this comic took two pages, eight panels instead of my usual two, thus it will be after the jump. For those of you reading the article itself that means it’s at the bottom of the page.
Also, there were no Best Scene nominations this week. The comics were either too good, too bad, reprints, or an old comic I already own. So that happened…or rather, didn’t happen.
- The Clutter Reports: Even the clutter-clearing site got to celebrate with a review of the Choose Your Own Adventure style “gamebook” Superman: The Man Of Steel, part of Archway Paperback’s “Super Heroes Which Way” series. I love those kind of books.
- Reviewers Unknown: If you missed it earlier this week, the second of the Jim Cummings’ hosted panels is up as he holds a Q&A for his fans. Up next are the two That Guy With The Glasses panels. Why two? I’ll explain when we get there.
And if you still want to read the comic, here we go:
You can see the trouble I would have had trying to get all of that into four panels, and believe me I tried. And yes, Lois Lane (badly drawn along with Perry White up there) and the secret identity are the only things that have stayed the same since Action Comics #1. I also made sure that I drew Superman’s New 52 armor as close to right as I could. That should be the last time for that. Next time, it’s back to the parody version. So Happy Birthday to Superman, Clark Kent, and Lois Lane. Hope you had good cake.
