It’s the final battle for Cybertron, and so much happens that’s important that I can’t condense it into a proper synopsis without over spoiling it. Ironhide tries to rescue Prowl, the Autobot and Decepticons line blur, and thanks to betrayal one surprising Transformers stands atop it all.
What they got right: Pretty much everything. The action, the artwork, the end reveal that’s perfectly in character..I only have one complaint.
What they got wrong: Granted it’s a personal one. Bumblebee really doesn’t come off well as if Barber is using him to reject the Autobots as much as the Decepticons. I always wondered why Mike Costa put him in charge of the Autobots since that doesn’t play to Bumblebee’s strong suits as a fictional character or as one of the Autobots’ best scouts and saboteurs. It feels like a wasted opportunity.
Recommendation: I’m curious to see where they’re going to go with this, and that’s something I haven’t been able to say for awhile, where I felt more like I was watching a train wreck but as a Transformers fan I kept watching if only to warn other Transformers fans away. This is honestly worth taking a look at.
