Long time BW readers may remember I posted the Robotix movie as part of Saturday Night Showcase. The toys started out as a building kit where you could build moving machines that resembled robots or whatever you could come up and work the remote control with. Sunbow made the cartoon based on it and it showed how much they really liked…the Transformers. While the backstory was unique they still turned a construction set into a war between two factions of living robots but it didn’t work quite as well for Milton Bradley as it did for Hasbro.
A company called Learning Curve brought them back to the days of construction sets but I only saw them in science stores and I can’t even find them there now. But they’re memory lives on in tonight’s Fight.

“Wright” round 7
The Battlefield: Robotix (Marvel Comics; February, 1986) “A World In Chaos”
The Promoters: Herb Trimpe (writer/artist–no credits given for the teleplay being adapted), Nel Yomtov (colorist) and Janice Chaing (letterer)
The Protecton Bront is fighting the Terrokor Steggor over which faction has the more blatantly obvious name.
Good thing Robotix sets are interchangeable.
At this point I have to ask what Steggor was doing instead of attacking. Maybe this wouldn’t have happened.
Somebody’s going to need a robo-asprin.
