Battletech: Fallout #2

The survivors are forced to surrender, but Morgan uses them (and Beauregard, whom she knows…intimately) for a plan to deal with one of the opposing Clans, Clan Wolf, and steal some of their business. Lea is rather upset to learn that she outranks Beauregard but everyone takes his lead and he has no respect for her. So she gives herself a makeover as the bartender and a few of his friends join in the raid.
What they got right: I like how we get a brief glimpse into…okay, just the characters we should care about, apparently. While I side with Lea that her rank should at least be respected, Beauregard seems more experienced and knows the territory, plus has a connection with the woman running Stars End, so that’s kind of important.
What they got wrong: Until Lea cut her hair and went for a Rambo wardrobe she and Hilda looked too much alike for women who aren’t supposed to be twins, or even sisters. Lea’s sudden change of look also comes out of nowhere. I hope the next issue explains it, but that currently isn’t in my collection.
Recommendation: I’m still enjoying the story, so I’d say it’s worth a look.
