A bolt of energy hits Cybertron, with the Dinobots split up and dealing with the results in separate locations. Snarl must keep the peace at Dinobot HQ,, Slug and Sludge come upon a trapped Forged in a cave, and Grimlock and Swoop find themselves in New Kalis with Energon slowly flooding the building.
What they got right: I like this idea, seeing how the Dinobots handle the same event but different situations.
What they got wrong: But I’m trying to figure out where this fits in Prime continuity. Is this when Megatron pelted the planet with is Dark Energon, because that looked like the usual stuff in liquid form flooding the place. Is this when the Omega Lock was first used, because that was a localized event and only a few buildings were restored before Megatron tried to weaponize it against Earth. Or is this some other event, since I thought this took place well before the series?
Recommendation: After so many years of unlikable Dinobots in the comics this is a refreshing change of pace. This is the only IDW Transformers comic I’ll be picking up with my budget issues and the only one I would miss. This is the only Transformers comic I can really recommend.
No Best Scene nomination from this one, though.
