Just in case you thought cheesecake was a recent superheroine issue.

Legionnaires #16

DC Comics (July, 1994)

“Saved By Zero”
WRITER: Mark Waid
PENCILER: Chris Gardner
INKER: Dennis Cramer
COLORIST: Tom McCraw
LETTERER: Pat Brosseau
ASSISTANT EDITOR: Mike McAvenue
EDITOR: KC Carlson

Time has gone insane. Legion members are reappearing and disappearing. People thought gone have returned, and others were never part of this continuity. But the Legionnaires don’t have time to worry about it because some guy who can juggle boulders is…repelling an invasion force for…some reason. I’ve got no clue.

And that’s my review of this whole comic, I have no clue. The “time gone crazy” thing was happening to all of the DCU titles at the time because of “Zero Hour” (the only reason that title fits, and it’s still a stretch). New fans or people who just barely know about the series (like myself) would be completely lost because it goes over the extremely convoluted timeline that is Legion Of Super Heroes and the various spin-off titles over the years. There’s a problem in trying to keep this series up to date as the future of the DC Universe and it leads to craziness like this.

Unless you’re already a fan getting this comic will just be confusing. It’s hard enough to follow a team this big but with new and old character popping in and out you won’t be able to get a handle on it, even if the story was kind of necessary for the Zero Hour event.
