I’m one of the last people to defend child abuse, especially sexual abuse. NAMBLA are horrible human beings and pedophiles need serious mental health. I’m also not one in favor of revenge fantasies. It’s why I have never watched Michael Douglas’ Falling Down, nor to I plan to, and why I’m not a fan of the Punisher or even the Spectre.
While I don’t mind a story where a hero, say Batman or Man-Bat, brings one of these guys to justice, when you make the hero act like a villain you’ve made a huge mistake. In this three part takedown of “Man-Bat Out Of Hell” from Batman: Black And White #2, written by Dan DiDio, Colin Smith of Too Busy Thinking About My Comics takes the DC publisher/writer’s worst nightmare/questionable writer to task for turning Man-Bat into a homicidal monster beyond being Man-Bat when a pedophile targets Curt Langstrom’s kids while Batman lets it happen by staying out of the way.
