The aliens head to Area 51 (or so it’s inferred) to pick up a new weapon…Orga! Combined with an upgraded Gigan, Earth’s best hope lies in Godzilla and the human’s newest robot…Mogera. But when even they aren’t enough, a new robot appears…Jet Jaguar!
What they got right: YAY JET JAGUAR! Yes, I like Jet Jaguar and it’s great to see him here in his first comic book appearance. Mogera also makes its debut and gets a great showing. Even the upgraded Gigan looks more badass than he ever has before.
What they got wrong: Orga, however, is not as well served. This is mostly due to the constant close-ups, like the artist didn’t know what the full monster looked like, which you would think would be easy to find out…even if he couldn’t find a good reference image the movie he came from, Godzilla 2000, is available to watch online for free. He’s one of the cooler Godzilla threats out there and it’s too bad he doesn’t get to look at cool as the other monsters and robots in this issue.
Recommendation: Oh heck yeah you should be reading this comic!
