Mega Man #31
Archie (January, 2014)
“Curse Of Ra Moon” part 3 “The Eve Of Battle” WRITER: Ian Flynn PENCILER: Mike Cavallaro INKERS: Gary Martin & Bob Smith COLORIST: Matt Herms LETTERER: Jack Morelli SELECTED COVER ART: Patrick “Spaz” Spaziante ASSISTANT EDITOR: Vincent Lovallo EDITOR: Paul Kaminski
The Wily Bots built by Ra Moon struggle between their Wily and Ra programming as Mega Man, his friends, and the uncorrupted Wily Bots move in to attack Ra Moon. Then Wily breaks out Ra Thor, which is supposed to help him take out Ra Moon with is own technology. Guess how that backfires!
What they got right: Hey, Break Man apologizes for zapping Roll. Still hasn’t proclaimed it a mistake and nobody knew Ra Moon was getting involved at the time. The best part (outside of Best Scene) was watching Gemini Man argue with himself because the clone wasn’t under Ra Moon’s control. The Wily Bots are fighting Ra Moon’s control. Wily and his bots have a line they won’t cross without coercion. I like that.
What they got wrong: Break Man still has some things to answer for, and it wouldn’t take long to say “I wasn’t aiming for Roll, I was aiming for you!”, would it?
Recommendation: Since Sonic seems to want to play games with reality my limited budget/space can’t fit it in. This comic, on the other hand, is still great and I want to keep getting it.
