Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #28

IDW Publishing (November, 2013)

“City Fall” part 7
STORY: Kevin Eastman, Bobby Curnow, & Tom Waltz
SCRIPT: Tom Waltz
ARTIST: Mateus Santoluco
COLORIST: Ronda Pattison & Ian Herring
LETTERER: Shawn Lee
EDITOR: Bobby Curnow

Karai’s new mutant, Bebop and Rocksteady may be dumb as bricks but their still powerful enough to take on the Turtles, even with some high-tech help from April. But maybe Leo isn’t beyond reach. Meanwhile, Casey finally gives his dad what he should have years ago. However, the heroes will still need help from Hob and Slash…and a place to lay low.

What they got right: I believe this is the end of the “City Fall” story arc, and it’s a place the Turtles have been before in the original comic and the 4Kids cartoon continuities but it still works and how they got here is different. Bebop and Rocksteady look better here than they did in their Micro-Series Villains debut.

What they got wrong: I can’t think of anything.

Recommendation: I’m still enjoying this new take on the Turtle universe. It’s worth picking up.

You should have done that years ago, Casey!
