Samurai Jack #4
IDW Publishing (January, 2014)
“The Threads Of Time” part 4 WRITER: Jim Zub ARTIST: Andy Suriano COLORIST: John Burcham LETTERER: Shawn Lee EDITOR: Carlos Guzman “SAMURAI JACK” CREATOR: Genndy Tartakovsky
The threads, slowly gaining sentience as they come together, leads Jack to another thread. This one is in the possession of an eternally young queen in an icy kingdom, treating her subjects horribly. Can Jack escape with the next thread?
What they got right: Really, any praise I give here would be the same as the previous issues; the writing, the art, and the idea of the threads as a uniting factor for one-shot stories. I’m also curious to see what happens when all the threads are collected.
What they got wrong: Did they forget to leave the hole in Jack’s sleeve? Hey, I’m fighting for something here to break the repetitiveness of my reviews.
Recommendation: Still a great comic that would have made a darn good season of the show. Pick it up.
