This is not morning reading material. This is a really long article (but still shorter than your average Film Crit Hulk article) that I wanted to give extra special attention to. That’s why it’s not a Morning Article Link. I’ve said before that Crisis On Infinite Earths was a great story but a failed project. Much like the New 52 not enough effort was put into creating a new continuity that nobody really asked for.
Matt Rossi’s posting at The High Hat goes into more detail than I ever knew about just how wrong the Crisis “project” actually went and how unneeded it actually was. He goes over the history of the project, how and maybe why it didn’t go quite the way Marv Wolfman planned it, and how “he who controls the origin controls the power” egotism played a role in messing up the post-Crisis DC Universe. Although he does forget to mention how Power Girl and Donna Troy also suffered from the conversion. It’s a long one but important to understand what I mean about Crisis On Infinite Earths being a failed project but a good story.
