That’s the only issue of Guardians Of The Galaxy I have access to, but this one follows a future team, kind of like Avengers IN SPAAAAAAAAAAAACCCE! However, when people think of this comic they think of the more recent incarnation, a modern-day team in deep space. This is the one Marvel Studios has tapped for their Marvel Movieverse and the trailer came out yesterday.
So it looks like they’re going for a light action movie in space. I never read the current incarnation (and only that one issue of the previous one) so I couldn’t tell you about the accuracy or why Star-Lord has a MP3(?) player with “Hooked On A Feeling” on it. At the very least it looks like a fun sci-fi story. And since this IS Marvel Movieverse you can imagine it will tie in with current events, possibly a proper introduction to Thanos for the movie fans who haven’t read the comics or seen The Super Hero Squad Show. Frankly, I think it looks interesting, but when more info comes out we’ll see if it remains so.
