Scooby-Doo Team-Up #3
DC Comics (May, 2014)
“Two Mites Make It Wrong” WRITER: Sholly Fisch ARTIST: Dario Brizuela COLORIST: Franco Riesco LETTERER: Deron Bennett ASSISTANT EDITOR: Jessica Chen EDITOR: Kristy Quinn
The gang and the Dynamic Duo track down the source of the costumes and gadgets used by Mystery, Inc’s usual baddies, False Face and the Spook. However, the bust is busted by the arrival of Bat-Mite…and Scooby-Mite? Those of you who didn’t like Scrappy’s hero worship of his Uncle Scoob…be warned.
What they got right: You know, I wanted to come down on this comic for just being Mite antics instead of a mystery, this was too much fun. The Mites put the gang through the ringer and it’s fun to see. We even get a cameo for Robin. Teen Titan toon fans know who he is but I’ll keep the rest of you in the dark.
What they got wrong: It’s my only complaint so I have to keep bringing it up: can’t they team with someone other than Batman and Robin? If you really must stick with the Bat crew, Sholly, how about Batgirl? The reformed Riddler? Commissioner Gordon? Somebody. A little variety, please! Can’t you still fit in Blue Falcon and Dynomutt? Throw us a Scooby Snack here!
Recommendation: I found myself enjoying this more than I planned, to the point where choosing a Best Scene was hard. Take a look at this one if you can stand the silliness.
