Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #32

The Foot assassin leader, calling herself Koya, sees Leonardo as a traitor, which is what Raphael thinks Alopex is. It turns out she just froze, while the back-to-normal Leonardo joins his family in battle and in spirit. April’s mom learns about the mutants while Splinter decides it’s time to take the fight back to the Shredder.
What they got right: The fight scenes are amazing. And it looks like April’s parents are going to be in on the story. I wonder what they’ll add. Koya also makes an interesting mutant foe for the Turtles.
What they got wrong: At no point during Leo and Koya’s fight does he bring up that he was brainwashed and isn’t a traitor but rather has his true self back. Speaking of an actual traitor to the Foot, why are they leaving Alopex behind? I want to see her stay on the team!
Recommendation: Still enjoying this comic. Still recommending it. This is an example of a good re-imagining.
