I Love Trouble #1
Image Comics (January, 2013)
This is the other comic I picked up at last year’s Brass City Comic Convention
WRITER: Kel Symons ARTIST: Mark A. Robinson COLORIST: Paul Little LETTERER: Pat Brousseau no credits given for editorial
After getting in trouble with some bad characters, a girl named Felicia is flying to get away when the airplane crashes…without her because he learns she can teleport. She uses her new-found powers to steal the money she owes, but someone else has their eye on her.
What they got right: Let me state this right now. This is not my kind of title. Maybe Felicia becomes a good person by the end of the miniseries but at this point I have no personal interest in her. Also there’s swearing. These are personal taste issues, however. The writing is decent, you learn everything you need to about the main characters at this point, and there are some interesting ideas here.
What they got wrong: Again, any problems I have are personal taste issues, as from an unbiased perspective I don’t see anything all that wrong here.
Recommendation: If anything in the synopsis I wrote interests you then you may like this comic. It’s just not my personal style.
