Marvel Adventures: Super Heroes may be one of the greatest titles Marvel ever put out…at least until they replaced new Tobin stories with reprints of Marvel Age stories. I’m a bigger fan of the earlier stories, before the Avengers left their own MA title and the fingers of Jeff Parker, some of the best Avengers titles. However, I readily admit personal biases here. It felt more like a DC title than a Marvel book…certainly more DC than the New 52.

What I loved best were the really early issues, where Hulk, Spider-Man, and Iron Man would hang out, battle supervillains, and get involved in wacky hijinks. Like the time Hercules asked the trio to dogsit for a few days. Oh, did I mention the dogs were Cerebrus and Orthus?

I’m still trying to decide if dog sitting for Lockjaw would be worse. At least Orthus isn’t dropping people in other dimensions.

Not to worry, though. They have a big green dog tamer nearby.

Why hasn’t this happened on the Avengers cartoon yet? Or Ultimate Spider-Man? Somebody make this ep…series.
