In Paris the rebuild Mechagodzilla takes on Baragon, the third (after Sanda and Gaira) to find a home on the Monster Islands. Meanwhile, the underwater alien tells the story of how his people have been corrupted and begs the humans to stop them, just as they launch three monsters at Godzilla–Manda, Titanosaurus, and Gezora–and a squad of mini-Destroyahs at the military!

What they got right: Mechagodzilla is back! Also more kaiju added without looking like they’re trying to shoehorn in as many as possible, while the story of the underwater race comes into play. Also the “headache guns” have an underwater version. Good thinking on the humans’ part. They have a solution that isn’t “bigger guns”.

What they got wrong: I’ve got nothing.

Recommendation: It’s nice to see the main comic giving me the joy I was only getting from the mini-series. (I liked the other main line arcs, but not as much as this.) Godzilla fans should be picking this series up.

That's Mechagodzilla punching a monster. The bar is raised again, people!
