Chapter by Chapter features me reading one chapter of the selected book at the time and reviewing it as if I were reviewing an episode of a TV show or an issue of a comic. There will be spoilers if you haven’t read to the point I have, and if you’ve read further I ask that you don’t spoil anything further into the book. Think of it as read-along book club.
Last time Kirk and the USO lady made peace. Now he just needs to get along with his crew. And get his chief medical officer on board before they launch.
This was the wacky hijinks chapter apparently. Sulu having trouble getting the Enterprise out of Spacedock, issues with the food replicator (to the point that a meat eater had to eat Spock’s salad while Spock ate her dinner) and McCoy finally made his “grand” appearance. He also thinks Kirk needs a Yeoman because the paperwork is more than Jim is used to handling. There’s not much to say. Scotty got upset over Sulu’s issues and Kirk not wanting to run speed trials (for good reason at this stage) so that’s still not working out. Still, it was a fun chapter.
And also, Koronin apparently obtained the ship from the son of someone very high in Klingon hierarchy. That won’t end well.
