He’s brought to an academy that will teach him how to use his “magic”. There he makes a friend named Tirwal and meets some of her friends. They vow to keep his secret, since Darien is using an assumed identity and Tirwal is a telepath but the wrong person now knows he’s here and has a surprise for his brother.
What they got right: We get the rest of the story (except for why Earth was chosen, what happened to Darien’s mom, or why Darien’s dad entered the space program, but we get the story of why they left) and Darien gets some friends so that works well.
What they got wrong: So Darien just happened to have an Earth name since he was a baby when they left Eridu? (Which I just found out is also the name of an ancient Sumerian city.
Recommendation: I’m still enjoying the comic and thus far nothing I’ve seen should keep parents from letting their kids read it. Give this one a look.
