It’s the last fight before the Prize Fight, which means next week is our hiatus. I’ve got some plans for next week, which I’ll explain on Sunday.
So Original Sin decided to screw over Dum Dum Dugan by telling us he’s been a robot Life Model Decoy for most of these years, including our current read-through of Godzilla, which will be switching over to Dark Horse in a few weeks. Tim Dugan was already long dead before you enjoyed his exploits because shock value is more important than being fair to your predecessors or long-time readers and fans of a character. Well, that means I may have the last written story where Dum Dum Dugan was an actual human, unless there’s another period piece or flashback story I’m not aware of. Let’s see what made the REAL Tim “Dum Dum” Dugan so interesting, shall we?

“Boogaloo” round 12
The Battlefield: Marvel Premiere #56 featuring Dominic Fortune (Marvel; October, 1980) “The Big Top Barter Resolution”
The Promoters: Len Wein & Howard Chaykin (plot), David Michelinie (writer), Terry Austin (finisher, with Chaykin’s layouts), Glynis Wein (colorist), and Joe Rosen (letterer)
The year is 1938 and we see Dum Dum doing what Dum Dum does a lot…fighting dudes.
Dom’s willing to help, but he is a HIRED gun, after all.
If you’ve read my review this week (link at the end of the article), you already know what their beef is with Dum Dum. Dom decides to side with the redhead.
But Dum Dum was there at the start and he’s a gonna be there at the end!
So now you can tell fellow Friday Night Fighter Brian Snell you found Dum Dum Dugan!
Head to Spacebooger.com and vote for your favorite Friday Night Fight! (Forum membership is NOT required to vote, only to comment.) Winners of these 12 rounds head to the Prize Fight in two weeks, so keep an eye on Spacebooger’s to find out when the next tournament is starting. We could use the competition.
