The battle has not gone well for the heroes…or has it? A secret weapon is deployed that can block the psychic powers of the Milleniaires, and our main characters, Sargent Elanian Daro and his co-pilot/mechanic Pomru Purrwakkawakka (I got that from Wikipedia so don’t blame me…I just work here) are an important part in taking the fight to the enemy. Now the alliance has a defense against the psychic hive-mind of the enemy.
There’s not a lot I know about this series. This is the third part of the first story arc, although a caption links to a story in First Adventures. My point is they aren’t going to explain a lot because they don’t have time. Doug Rice, a fan of giant robot war stories, created this series and that love of mecha shows up in the designs. The character and robot models are decent. The art isn’t that great (better than me, mind you), but for smaller publishers in the 80s you’re lucky to get full color. The characters themselves and the ideas presented seem interesting enough that I want to check out the other stories.
Beyond that it’s tough for me to give a proper recommendation. I happened to spot a comic with a giant robot many, many years ago and grabbed it, because like Rice I enjoy this genre. If I can get some more issues I’ll have a better idea if this is good or not. At the very least it may be worth checking out for yourselves.
