Captain America is one of the most popular characters in the Marvel universe, but until The First Avengers attempts to bring him out of the comics haven’t done very well. As part of his going through of every comic book appearance in cinema, Screen Crush editor Matt Singer looks at Cap’s serial from 1944. Look, I love serials. Adventures Of Captain Marvel is my favorite, as I’ve stated in the past, but while it got a number of things wrong it was still a great serial Captain America’s on the other hand…while I haven’t seen it yet I have yet to hear of anyone who likes it. It also gets every fact wrong and I’m not surprised he’s the only Marvel hero to have his own serial. Well, that and Marvel’s superhero roster was rather slim in the 1940s. I wonder how they would have pulled off The Whizzer?
