If you missed my saying it yesterday my grandfathern passed away this week. The only thing I could come up with for this week’s comic was me punching death in the face, which felt like I was trivializing the deaths of my mom and grandfather, plus my grandmother and uncle two years ago and my cousin’s husband last year. I just don’t want anyone else I care about to die, or at least let us finish grieving for the ones that have passed! We’re in mourning enough as it is!
So there’s no comic or Clutter Report this week. As for the site, my grandfather (we called him “Poppy”) was in such poor health that we kind of expected it. The fact that he survived two years passed his wife (“Nanny”) passing away was in itself a surprise. So I do have the whatever to continue BW operations. This week it’s movie week in the afternoon “Yesterday’s Comic because I still can’t afford new ones” feature. It’s not an adaptation but a continuation of the Lost In Space movie, followed by an adaptation of Disney’s Tarzan. I have seen both movies so this should be interesting. Hopefully I can come up with a better Jake & Leon comic by next week.

My Pepere (Grandfather in French Canadian language) passed away in 2008 at a nursing home 2 years after my Memere (Grandmother in French Canadian language) passed away in 2006 unexpectedly. With my Pepere, he was in poor health, so we knew that it would eventually happen. With Memere, it was very tough to handle because it was totally unexpected. It’s very tough to deal with the passing of family members. And when it happens, it seems to happen all together in a short period of years. Keeping you, your father, and your family in my prayers.

Nanny died of cancer but we didn’t know about it until the late stages (my uncle, who died later that month we knew about for a lot longer) so we had some preparation for, just not enough. That was really hard on everyone, and my dad also had the distraction of my mom getting real sick (we almost lost her that year but praise the Lord the doctors were able to save her that time). It’s definitely been a tough time for this family. I’m hoping we’re done with it for awhile. We need the breathing room badly.
