Ah, what the heck, let’s look at the intro, too. Time isn’t my friend this week and this should be easy.

If you missed it yesterday I went over my concerns about the upcoming online remake of Electra Woman And Dyna Girl, Sid & Marty Krofft’s low-budget parody of superhero shows like the Batman of the time. Now say what you will about the show it had some good ideas and the theme song is one that stays in my head rather nicely.

Surprising nobody I will also review the logo. I like it. Dyna Girl gets her own font, although why they went with digital over something resembling an explosive I can only guess about. Electra Woman gets a font resembling electricity, which fits.

The intro itself does exactly what an intro should and draws you into the show while giving brief, important details to anyone who came in at episode 7 or something. What do we learn? The two women who become our heroes write for a magazine, have a wrist gadget that transforms their outfits into their superhero costumes, they have an elevator, someone who helps them (although I think Frank was their boss…who lived in their basement with the supercomputer…yeah, I’ve got nothing), and a wacky assortment of villains that can only be a threat in 70s kids shows. They even show off the flying car.

The music could probably use an update but the lyrics still hold up. That’s always nice to see in a theme song. If I were to register any critique (based on the show’s budget) is…why are there animals randomly in the beginning instrumental part? They aren’t shown to be fighting them…or any of the villains. Unless Dyna Girl has to fight a killer wine glass at some point and I don’t remember that episode.

I post this as a signal to Legendary’s upcoming internet remake. A good intro is a good idea and a dying art. I hope the new show has one, with an update of the theme song. Even that crappy pilot had the theme song…that was not updated but still the only decent thing that happens in that insult.

Very funky! Despite being born in the 1970s, I don’t remember this show. I will say this though….the 70s and 80s had much better television action shows when compared with the 21st century.
