This afternoon we looked at Metallix, from the sadly failed Future Comics. If you missed it, the series followed four people who shared a liquid metal armor known as Metal-X, each using their own skills (which the suit can enhance) for whatever situation required them to use the armor. We got to know the military guy, Gil, in the fight that opened the story. He obviously brings military training, including using the Multi-Purpose Utility Team Trainer (MUTT) to help the others work on their combat skills in case there isn’t time to switch partners. So let’s meet the rest of team Metallix.

“Thunder” round 11
The Battlefield: Metallix #1 (Free Comic Book Day edition; Future Comics; April, 2003) “Mine!”
The Promoters: David Michelinie (writer), Ron Lim (penciler), Bob Layton (co-ploter/inker), Moose Baumann (colorist), and Albert DeGuzman (letterer)
First up we have Seth, a pacifist if I follow this correctly.
Seth may not like to fight, but he doesn’t have to stand there and get pummeled, either.
Next up is Aidan, the team’s pilot, which is hard to both train and enhance. However, he’s also a tournament martial artist, who can play kick the can with a larger can thanks to Metal-X.
Finally, there’s Blue (yes that’s her name), whose special talent are heightened senses, even more so with the suit on.
Technically we have three winners as three of the four Team Metallix team took out the fourth in training and that’s the victory I’m calling.
Head to Spacebooger.com by Sunday night and vote for your favorite Friday Night Fight! (Forum membership is NOT required to vote, only to comment.) Winners of these 12 rounds head for the Prize Fight, so feel free to join in. We could use the competition. Rules are posted on Tuesdays at Spacebooger’s.
