Gavin Aung Than puts the power of his popular webcomic Zen Pencils to bring news of yet another cartoonist jailed for daring to speak out. Here in the United States (and hopefully in your country if your not in the US) you can say, write, or draw anything critical of our government that you want. In Iran that is not the case, as Atena Farghadani is sadly learning right now. This one isn’t another shot at radical Islam but the Iranian government, but the punishment is still wrong and shows how few rights, especially if you’re a woman, you have in Iran. Than also mentions a movement among creators to draw awareness to Farghadani’s plight.
