I'm pretty sure the main villain for more shooter characters is Rainbow Brite.

The game footage came from an online playthrough of the demo since I don’t own a Wii U. Somebody (I want to say the Game Overthinker or Enigma, my former Reviewers Unknown colleague) brought up the fact that Splatoon was a third-person shooter with more color than the usual third or first-person shooter, and he’s right. Nintendo is really good at making colorful games and I hear more praise for this game than other shooter games coming out lately. Maybe it’s just the circles I’m running with. Also, this game isn’t technically violent. Your beings made of colored ink shooting other beings made of colored ink with your color and painting the landscape as much as you can in your color before the timer stops. Even the game feels like the characters are playing a game instead of being in some end-of-the-world or real(ish) war scenario. I applaud this game, even if I can’t play it.

I posted something at The Clutter Reports this week. It’s just a repost of the Free Comic Inside article with the second Marvel Comics/Drake’s Snack Cakes miniseries mini-comics but at least it’s something. I’ve also missed Saturday postings, even doing a Saturday Night Showcase. These past few weeks have been really busy but hopefully I can start putting stuff together again…at least until I can fix whatever computer issue is making it hard to finish my cousin’s videos.

Finally, I put myself into a corner, didn’t I? I said that the midnight Monday comic review would be the Firestorm story from Cancelled Comics Cavalcade that was reprinted in the Firestorm trade I’ve been using, and it will. I also said I would be covering the Flash backup stories also reprinted in the trade…but as I recall I said it would be on Monday. The same Monday that I’ll be dedicating to Batman: The Animated Bible. Idiot. So the Flash backups will be part of Scanning My Collection on Tuesday and Monday’s installment of B:TAB will feature the superheroes of Gotham City, Batman and Robin, as well as Alfred who might as well be a superhero by the time the DCAU is done. I’ll also have the next Chapter By Chapter of The Black Stallion’s Ghost I said I’d do to catch up (and to see how the book will disappoint me with the Kovi reveal) possibly on Wednesday unless something comes up. Then it should be Thursday. That should be good for the week.
