The I-Bots handle another break-in, this time at a Worldtech facility. However, the guns can’t fire and the I-Bots are sure it was a trap…which it was, but not the usual type. Annabelle goes for broke and exposes the I-Bots origins. (At least they don’t have to worry about what their superhero name will be anymore.) As the public reacts to the news about a new form of robotics, Annabelle tries to claim them as Worldtech property when they go on a talk show to explain themselves. Somehow Fen is able to secure Zac and Annabelle decides he’s outlived his usefulness. While the I-Bots are rescued by Black Triangle, they stun the I-Bots, hoping to learn their secrets. This doesn’t sit well with Yagara and when Annabelle attacks their ship both Fen and Yagara find themselves on the outside, while Annabelle learns that her grandfather is behind Black Triangle and has his own plans to use I-Bots bodies to control the Cabal. Back on the ground, the two enemies plot their payback when they are joined by a third member…Radiant!
What they got right: I’m not usually the type for political intrigue and conspiracy stuff, but this comic gets me into it. The machinations are interesting and our poor heroes caught in the middle. I really want to see how this story ends, although I do remember a few details from my original reading when I first bought the comic.
What they got wrong: I hoping this is explained next issue, but how did Radiant find Fen and Yagara?
Recommendation: Later we look at the next issue, which I believe is the end of the first storyline. So far so good, so pick this up.
