In the previous episode issue, Spidey soon realized the black costume was making him aggressive in the bad ways as well as the good. Aided by Curt Connors they realized it was affected by loud sounds and he used a church bell to force the symbiote off of him, but it found a new host in Eddie Brock. Now together calling themselves Venom, Brock and the symbiote start tormenting Spider-Man (although unlike the episode they didn’t have room to have him also show up at Aunt May’s) until Spider-Man gets the idea to get the symbiote launched back into space on a new satellite launching rocket, the roar of which also forces it off of Eddie.

What they got right: Within the limits of space this is a good adaptation of the final episode of “The Alien Costume”. The art still emulates the show style and the important moments are here.

What they got wrong: The credits list a bunch of last names but now who did what. I had to go to the fan wiki to get all of that information. I hate when comics do that.

Recommendation: While the show is more recommended (odd CG usage aside), these three issues (I am missing #9) do a good job adapting Venom’s debut in this show and might be an interesting read if you can’t find the episodes.
