Kicker is chased by Battle Ravage only to be rescued by Alexis, who came to protest the drilling for a new ore, named “01 Source”, that is actually Energon. This is obviously what brought the Terrorcons to Earth. Meanwhile, Kicker’s dad, head of the project, sends his lead man, who turns out to be Rad, with Carlos monitoring from a satellite, to bring his son back. On Cybertron, Optimus only gets clearance for himself to return to Earth, but then the Four Horsemen attack!
What they got right: It’s interesting to see where the kids got up to in 10 years and to see that Alexis took a different path from the boys. (She may not know Rad and Carlos are part of Alterenergy, the company digging for 01 Source/Energon.) There are some decent action moments and the art is good.
What they got wrong: However, this feels more like the path Alexis should have taken after the cartoon Armada versus where she ended up in cartoon Energon. I still don’t understand why Transformers need to ride “horses” versus just being superpowerful Transformers.
Recommendation: Still better than the cartoon and a good story in its own right. Worth picking up.
