The Sith hold a funeral for a Sith Lord, but two Sith–the traditional Ludo Kressh and the progressive Naga Shadow–end up in a fight, interrupted by the Force Spirit of the buried Sith Lord, warning that the Sith Empire is now at a crossroad and to choose wisely for their future. Even Odan-Urr can feel the potential shift in Force Visions of his own. And that’s when the Daragons arrive, lost and not knowing this was Sith territory. They land looking to trade with a new planet and find themselves prisoners of the Sith.
What they got right: If I understand what’s happening correctly the Sith don’t use lightsabers but regular swords channelling the power of the Dark Side (I think that’s what the purple energy is because it looks like Force Lightning) by the Sith Lord wielding it. That’s actually a pretty neat idea, although “today’s” Sith (and wanna-be Sith) use lightsabers with red blades. We also get a brief glimpse into Sith culture.
What they got wrong: Is it just me or do the Sith all seem to either be the same race? Jedi and Sith should be many different races. Am I missing something from this being the only Tales Of The Jedi series I have in full?
Recommendation: An interesting tale with a bit more proto-Star Wars Universe than the previous issue. It’s still worth a look even if it isn’t canon.
