A new criminal named Mastertrax has even the Man Of Steel stumped, He can teleport but leaves no traceable signal, and his suit is heavily armed. As Metropolis is slowly panicking and conspiracy theories abound (spoiler: it’s actually a prototype Lex “lost” to mess with Superman), Dr. Hamilton figures out a way to track Mastertrax…which turns out to be a group of kids just looking to steal stuff and not some major goal beyond that.
What they got right: Interesting how a mixtape gives Lois and Clark ideas as to what Mastertrax is actually up (and yet they’re still not completely right), and as a villain concept and motivation it’s actually a pretty cool one. It doesn’t lend well to a return but it works great as a one-shot villain.
What they got wrong: Minor nitpick but I don’t see the point in having a 8-track player be part of the tracking device. It’s not a particularly amusing gag.
Recommendation: Definitely a fun Superman adventure. Worth checking out.
