With Devil’s help, the Phantom escapes Him’s army but comes back to unnerve him again. As Him starts having nightmares about the Phantom that seem to be tied to his own insecurities, the Phantom rescues a group of enslaved children but when he comes up another kidnapping group he ends up surrounded by enemy soldiers.
Ed Rhoades’ “Behind The Mask” looks at how the Phantom’s secret identity differs from other superheroes.
What they got right: The art is good, especially the scenes where we look into Him’s growing nightmares and showcasing his growing paranoia.
What they got wrong: Nothing immediately comes to mind.
Recommendation: This is a must-own storyline for Phantom fans. Track these down if you haven’t already.
