And it took him a week to realize this.
I’ve got so much to do this week that I won’t be able to do much BW work this week. This isn’t why I suggested I might have two weeks off, but it does include a job interview. Wish me luck! There’s also two family events and monthly grocery shopping plus who knows what else. Depending on what happens with the interview I should be back to full speed next week.
Meanwhile, I did do some work on the back-up drive in this week’s Clutter Report. So that’s something to check out, even though it’s short. We’ll be returning with more Death & Return Of Superman, my thoughts on Transformers Cyberverse (episodes available on Cartoon Network’s website and more on demand if you have cable), more He-Man newspaper strips, and some Star Trek stuff, including more from the TNG writer’s guide. I also have the next few Saturday Night Showcases chosen. Just bear with me another week, and again I apologize to the new subscribers (I even picked up another one) as well as the rest of you. We will be back soon.

It’s good that the job interview is in your geographical proximity. I seriously am saying prayers for you with this. I just looked at your twitter on the side and saw the three opening versions of Mysterious Cities of Gold. The Japanese version isn’t too good musically. I’ve always liked the American version, as that opening song quite is catchy, and I still know the lyrics to this day. Plus, the American version had real Andean sounding music (I think that cartoon was set in the Andes region of what’s now Peru and Ecuador, basically the Inca Empire). I do like the French version. I can understand most of the words due to my knowledge of the French language and in this case with the French lyrics, it reminds me of a pleasant zouk song (zouk is a music style that started in the French Caribbean islands and has spread to France, French speaking African nations, and French speaking Canada). So I would have to say that I like both the American and French openings of Mysterious Cities of Gold.

The new series is set in China, as the characters from the old show look for another gold city, and the intro reflects that, changing out the South American flavor for Chinese. It doesn’t sound as good (at least to my ears) but at the same time the change is what they should have done moving to a new location.
