Osamu Tezuka created a sensation with Tetsuwan Atomu, which I believe translates to “Mighty Atom” or something, but outside of Japan he’s known as Astro Boy. He inspired everyone from Mega Man to US shows like Robot Boy and I’m betting My Life As A Teenage Robot. ICv2 reports on a wave of Astro Boy cartoons created especially for various countries, including one on YouTube if you speak Nigerian. I wonder if the US will get one or if all we’ll have is the movie from a few years ago?
