One of the things lost when YouTube ended annotations were videos where you could choose where the story goes like a Choose Your Own Adventure book or some of those interactive Laserdisk things I think they tried and failed at. However, some are learning how to do the same thing with end cards. I haven’t followed if there even is a community for these interactive stories on YouTube (I stumbled across a couple in the annotation years) but Best Buy used it for an ad campaign and now YouTube is doing an interactive story with YouTube celebrity Markiplier playing a thief. Why not a good guy? I don’t know. That’s the story I’d rather play.
