While the Transformers live-action movies have been profitable they haven’t been good. The fight scenes were a spectacle but the designs of the Transformers (most notably the robot mode color schemes being so similar you couldn’t tell them apart) were a mess and the story was a joke. Few Transformers fans like myself are going to miss Michael Bay. But with him gone and Travis Knight’s Bumblebee fixing many of his mistakes (I still need to see the movie but the character design was seriously improved) Paramount is looking to revamp their approach to the franchise. As the guy who rage quit Age Of Extinction not even half way in I can only hope it’s better than Bay’s approach.
