After another ye old Iron Fist flashback that seems to have nothing to do with the story, Danny goes searching for the other Iron Fist user, while Ron Randall tries his best to stay undercover. Wai-Go/Hydra decides to track down both Iron Fists after the leader of this branch of Hydra learns that Rand is snooping around. His search failed, Danny returns home only to find Randall waiting for him. Danny attacks him and Ron claims that he new and trained Danny’s father.

What they got right: Honestly, not much because not much happens. At best the story does move forward. We see Randall isn’t exactly a good guy in a flashback when he beats up a reporter looking into how soldiers come back from war while doing drugs in a French brothel, so we get some insight into him I guess.

What they got wrong: Why do the sisters turn into their swan forms when the surviving fake cop is strangled to death in the obligatory “did I mention I’m evil and will torture/kill my own people for not living up to my standards and surviving” bit? What IS the point of all these previous Iron Fists? Are we support to root for them or not? So little happens in this issue, “move forward” is a relative term.

What I think overall: I’m just not getting into this story. It feels like there’s a lot of padding and it shows just how little I understand when it comes to Hydra.
