Happy Independence Day to my fellow Americans. I hope it was safe, fun, and that you remembered why we gather every July 4th. It’s the birthday of the United States, free to follow our own journey with a government by, for, and of the people rather than a ruling class. This is our goal, and though we haven’t always been a perfect people (to put it mildly) we strive to make a better tomorrow, even when we don’t always agree what that is. Obviously I’m a bit biased because I was born here, but America is a great country. We aren’t better than everyone else, but there is a reason so many risk their lives to come here. God bless America.
