Beena lets the chief in on Old Tom’s order to kill Danica if she doesn’t measure up as a Star Powered Sentinel. Grex continues to question Burke and each shared their own stories about being in the Void Angels, including the incident that led to Burke’s expulsion from Galactic Defense…after he killed someone. Meanwhile, Danica shuts the gate (unknowingly right in the face of one of the scientists) and witnesses the horrors of the civil war going on, not sure how she should handle all the fighting and carnage: observe as a scientist but don’t get involved because she doesn’t know who is in the right. But the scariest thing of all? PSI-COP HAS A NEW FACE!

What they got right: Look, I’m allowed to be silly now and then if the comic is. Using Psi-Cop for a bit of comic relief in such a heavy story as what Danica is experiencing, Burke and Grex’s shared and varied histories, and this storyline’s theme of whether Danica is up to being a Star Powered Sentinel as explained by Old Tom is quite welcome. (I’m guessing the show changed actors for whatever reason.) So I have no problem with that. All the other parts are also good stories, though I still have concerns about three plotlines going on simultaneously as a general rule.

What they got wrong: Instead of lore dumps, at least in the webcomic version, we’re getting Patreon advertisements. The comic is done and the Patreon is for a comic no longer in production (they’re currently on other projects which might have their own Patreon). I miss the ways they snuck in lore outside of the stories.

What I think overall: Still enjoying the series. I hope to complete my physical library someday.
