“Star Power And The Last Jump Gate” finale

Old Tom quells Breena’s fears about Danica being in danger from him. Using her new Centurion Armor, Star Power manages to chase off the warring factions, saving the neutral Evebenians and learning from them that the two groups used to get along until the war started, with nobody sure what started it. Mitch gains a physical-ish body thanks to the upgrades, and suggests taking the Evebenians to the Millenium Federation, where they’ll be safe. It’s a three day journey on foot for the others but they eventually reach the gate, with Landon pulling a huge trick to get the ship to the planet sooner. They chase off the warring factions and start setting up a defense around the gate. Dancia returns home to translate for the Evebenians and to reunite with her friends. She also finally talks to her mom but from what we get to hear it didn’t go well. Meanwhile, Burke tells Grex about killing his captain in anger when he tried to escape after Burke called law enforcement on the human smuggling operation. This has opened a new lead in a cold case.

What they got right: Old Tom’s reaction to Psi-Cop was great. I think I miss this fake show almost as much as the real comic. Old Tom states that both Danica and the Federation live by the same ideals as the Zel Gux and thus she’s not a problem. Star Power saves all the neutrals and I don’t care how cheesy you think that is, I love the daylights out of it! “But it’s not realistic.” Have you read this comic? I’ve been linking to it. Your cynical form of “realism” isn’t welcome here. Believable fun is.

What they got wrong: Unless it comes out in a later story we still don’t know why the Evebians and Vebians are fighting, though clearly somebody is responsible for something. Also, it’s the archives, guys. Do you still need to keep all those Kickstarter ads up there?

What I think overall: Like Danica says at the end, I miss these characters. I’m glad I found a way to see them again. After the Christmas break, a new story arc.
