[Read along with me here]

Burke and Danica actually start to bond, though the alcohol is helping Burke calm down. All around our heroes things are finally coming together, and not in a good way. The Chief learns that the smuggling shipments, including but not only people, were going to Doctor Hymn, which Burke eventually recognizes through a younger picture of himself (no, I’m not joining that gag) as someone he was when he substituted for one of the corrupt pilots. Burke also figures out that Hymn might be involved with the smuggling operation, before running into the “rogue singer”. In flashback we learn he made friends with the shot choir applicant, and he’s out for payback! Somebody better warn Dr. Brightman, who just went off with the doctor, after obtaining a sample of Star Power’s hair for whatever it is he’s working on.

What they got right: The new colorist (unless I missed her credit last issue) is a good addition to the team. Her coloring matches Graham’s in previous issues. The mystery is getting fascinating.

What they got wrong: There’s a huge exposition dump as the Chief reveals his findings. Graham manages to work around it artistically but it’s still a larger paragraph than I’d expect.

What I think overall: Still a very enjoyable series.
