“Stray Cats And Tin Men”
WRITERS: James Surdez & Matthew Ritter
ARTIST: Jhomar Soriano
A pair of bounty hunters, a catgirl and a robot, take out their latest assignment. Between missions, Muffy and Vern (their names respectively) are visited by Naoki, a famous idol who goes by Lilith as a stage name. She wants to part ways with her record label but they’d rather part her down the middle. They send a ninja that Naoki doesn’t want to see die but she doesn’t want to go back with her either. Our “heroes” manage to shake her off of their flying car but the assignment isn’t over just yet.
What they got right: The interactions between the catgirl and robot are fun. They don’t seem to get along so I’d be curious to see why they work together. There’s some good action.
What they got wrong: Not every panel works in black and white, but most of the time it does.
What I think overall: It’s a good start and I am curious to see more of this story.
