In the main story, two Padawans (our usual Nubs and from another team, Qort) fly a ship despite a language barrier that never comes up in the story. Instead they help free people from a visiting starship in danger of exploding while their friends (including Kai and Lys) try to calm the crowd at the event the ship is docked near. Frankly I was disappointed. It’s okay seeing the younglings helping people but why introduced the idea that Nubs and Qort both are unable to speak each other’s language or Galactic Standard and have to find a way to work together? It doesn’t really come up and they have no problem teaming up.

In the back-up story…it’s a big pun fest. Zomboss forces a video team to record his tales from before be became Zomboss and it’s all jobs with a pun based on his name. I’m not a zombie person and I never played Plants Vs Zombies so while some of you might enjoy it even Paul Tobin couldn’t save this for me.

Overall I just wasn’t into this comic. The first story has a good idea but doesn’t capitalize on it, and the other was lost based solely on personal preference. On the plus side it’s two complete stories in one book and Dark Horse seems better suited at making comics for kids than some others out there. It’s just a comic for kids, with the stories being kid friendly while not doing weird oversized panel layouts because they think kids can’t read a normal comic. Dark Horse seems to be a better job with Disney’s acquired properties than Disney-owned Marvel does.
