Geoffrey learns how Elias came to the Floating Island after their fathers separated the royal siblings to ensure the royal lineage, but the ship was shot down, the colonel seemingly the only survivor until years later, when Elias turned up at the Compound, having been protected by the Guardians. They also gave Elias a way to find Haven, but it gets them in the middle of the storm, which Lara-Le tells Locke is part of the Day Of Fury. Something is keeping them from finding Haven but they manage to find Elias, Geoffrey, and Geoffrey’s team when they’re caught in the chaos. Meanwhile, Knuckles, Remington, and Julie-Su find the empty ship Lara-Le used and try to find them, only for a lightning bolt to blast their ship from the sky…right on Haven’s doorstep.
What they got right: Well, all the questions have been answered about Elias’ whereabouts. We get interesting moments with the characters. Geoffrey’s skepticism is understandable between the robots and wizard-controlling our heroes in Knothole have put up with lately.
What they got wrong: What’s with all the ship crashes in this issue? Guns and lightning bolts are working overtime. Hopefully things are finally coming together because all of these separate plotlines are distracting. Apparently Haven isn’t going to be much of a secret anymore.
What I think overall: I wish they stuck to one tale at a time instead of all these separate attempts at Penders to create his own Sonic/Knuckles lore that’s just going to get tossed out anyway.
