Two articles from Bounding Into Comics leads one to question the future of the morphenominal heroes. I know I’m happy to hear that the “adult” Power Rangers was canceled. (Bonus article: me going over why a kids brand doesn’t need a grown-up version, with the only “counterpoint” being one commenter saying “yes we do” without further explaining.) However, the article notes no report of a new kids version either.

Meanwhile, the attempt to drain the sentai from the franchise called upon by producer Simon Bennett. also mentioned in that article, may have something to due with the news in the second article, that Hasbro never actually wanted the Power Rangers brand. It’s kind of a shame given that I thought Hasbro was doing a good job with building on Ranger lore (though of course making the tomboy gay because stereotyping is popular in Hollywood), though Cosmic Fury didn’t look like much of anything with what few clips I’ve seen because it moved to Netflix. Maybe the toy company shouldn’t have been so quick to form it’s own TV company just so they wouldn’t have to share with other companies, learning nothing from the failure of The Hub.
