In the main story, Sonic has to go into a temple to retrieve a power ring they need to power the biplane the rest of the way home. It’s really just an excuse to do a story where Sonic has to dodge a bunch of traps and a giant snake “mutate”. Why even have the right there like that? It’s an okay story but kind of forced. Maybe it should have been saved for a later period?

In the back-up story, Lupe and her pack leave to return home, but the Day Of Fury has messed up the river as they knew it and they find themselves lost near a mysterious island. It’s not all setup, as it explores a bit of the wolves’ history and how they met Sonic and company, which I think was taken from the show but I don’t think I have their debut in the comic unless they did use the show and just dropped them in here.

Overall, it doesn’t sound like a lot to review, but it’s a decent pair of stories, even the main one is timed a bit odd.
